A free copy was sent to my HK address. MM opened it for me and here's our conversation:
M: "Looks like there's a book for you. Shall I open it?"
me: "OK."
M: "Mul...ti...lingual...Internet...What's that?" (good question)
me: "oh wow ...so it's out? hey, go to chapter 8!!!!"
M: (excited) "wow...How much did they pay you?" (ha...there you go.)
me: "well most of the time we don't get paid to publish"
M: "Why did you still want to do it then?" (good question #2!)
me: "................."
M: "Linguistic features of ICQ............(and starts reading out one of my Cantonese examples)....How come there's Chinese? Is that what you study????????????????" (that's enough! that's enough M!!!!)
me: "hey, gotta go. bye."
Should be a good topic for PhD Comics.
